About Courteney - founder and tutor
Meet Courteney Goff, M.Ed., the passionate founder of Harbour Tutoring. With a Master's in Education from Arizona State University (where she earned above a 4.0 GPA) and a B.S. in Family and Human Services from the University of Oregon, Courteney brings a wealth of knowledge and heart to her work.
Before Harbour Tutoring, Courteney made a real difference as a Phoenix Teach For America corps member, where her 4th graders blossomed, growing an average of two years in both reading and math! She was also a key part of launching a top Arizona charter school and was even recognized nationally for her outstanding teaching.

What truly drives Courteney is her own journey. As a child, she faced significant challenges with reading and writing until a dedicated tutor's one-on-one support transformed her learning and ignited her confidence. This personal experience fuels her belief that "practice makes permanence, not perfect," and her deep commitment to helping every student believe in themselves.

For the past five years, Courteney has lovingly guided children worldwide, helping them discover the joy of reading, become confident writers, develop strong mathematical minds, and even learn English for the first time, all through her personalized 1:1 tutoring. Beyond her direct work, she also pours her energy into mentoring her team of exceptional tutors, ensuring they too can help children reach their full potential. Courteney's support goes beyond the books, nurturing confidence in all aspects of her students' lives. She's truly dedicated to helping each child unlock their unique abilities and build lasting self-belief.

When she's not busy empowering young learners: During the cooler Arizona months, you might find Courteney tending her garden. She also finds joy in the kitchen, whether she's trying out a new recipe, baking with sourdough, or getting lost in a good book. She resides in Phoenix, Arizona.
